23-01-2010 Naomi in "Dream House"

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Naomi is joining Daniel Craig in "Dream House," a thriller Jim Sheridan is directing for Morgan Creek with Universal distributing in North America.

The project, written by David Loucka, follows a family that relocates into what appears to be the ideal residence in small town Connecticut. However, a father (Craig) and his family are disturbed to discover that their beautiful new home was the site of another family's slaughter, believed to be at the hands of the husband who survived. Watts plays the family's neighbor.

Production is scheduled to begin February in Toronto.

The Green Family Foundation, a private, non-profit organization announced today that it has partnered with acclaimed actor and producer Fisher Stevens to produce "This is Haiti," a radio public service announcement campaign to generate funding for the disaster relief efforts in Haiti via the Clinton Foundation and Partners in Health.

"This is Haiti" features readings of Haiti-inspired prose delivered by Naomi Watts, Sting and Ben Stiller. The PSAs, each 60 seconds long, are posted online at www.greenff.org, where they can be downloaded for free. 26-10-2009 Woddy Allen Project Official Title Announced

"You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger" is the name of Woody Allen's new film, starring Naomi Watts, Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins and Freida Pinto, the Spanish producer Mediapro announced today. The announcement came as the Barcelona-based producer said Spanish broadcaster Antena 3 has entered the project as a co-producer, repeating the same relationship the two forged on "Vicky Cristina Barcelona."

Gemma Jones and Lucy Punch round out the cast in the film that revolves around different members of a family, their tangled love lives and their attempts to try to solve their problems.

Slated for release in fall 2010, "Stranger" is the second of four Mediapro Woody Allen projects.

06-10-2009 Naomi named best value actress in Hollywood

When it comes to offering the best return on investment, lower profile is better for the actresses on the list. Forbes looked at the top 100 actors and actresses and then figured out earnings on their last three major films. they then calculated an operating income for each film and divided total operating income by each actress' total compensation to come up with an average ROI number for each star.

Naomi has kept for the most part a low profile, appearing mostly in artsy fare like last year's Funny Games. But thanks to 2005's King Kong, her average return on investment is the best in Hollywood. For every $1 Watts was paid, her films earned an average of $44.

It has just been confirmed that this year's Toronto International Film Festival has added "Mother And Child" to the list of world premieres to its lineup. 12-04-2009 "The International" DVD Details

Finally the details for "The International" DVD and Blu-ray releases have been confirmed. Each will be available to own from the 9th June. Extras on the DVD will include an audio commentary (participants to be confirmed), 4 featurettes, and an extended scene. The Blu-ray release will include all that, along with a digital copy of the film, and a picture-in-picture track with behind the scenes footage, interviews, and location shots. Not too bad.

25-03-2009 Nicole Kidman joins Woody Allen Film

According to Variety, Nicole Kidman will star alongside her best friend, Naomi Watts, in Woody Allen's next directorial offering. Joining the already announced cast of Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins and Freida Pinto, the film’s title is yet to be confirmed.

25-03-2009 Update: Woody Allen Film

Actor Antonio Banderas has revealed a little bit of the upcoming, and yet untitled Woody Allen film. He presented an award at the latest Málaga Film Festival, where he told that he has ten very funny scenes in the film with Naomi Watts, where there is sexual tension between the two despite their characters both being married.

The film is set to begin shooting in London this July. Stay tuned for more updates!

23-02-2009 Naomi And Sean Penn To Work Together Again?

Another exciting project for Naomi! Hot off of his Academy Award win last night, Sean Penn is reportedly in negotiations to star opposite his 21 Grams co-star Naomi Watts in "Fair Game", based on outed undercover CIA agent Valerie Plame's memoir. The Bourne Identity's Doug Liman will direct.

Variety reports that no deal has been closed yet with Penn, who is up for the role of Plame's (Watts) husband, Ambassador Joseph Wilson. Plame was an undercover CIA agent for years until her cover was blown by political opponents within George W. Bush's administration.

The trade reminds us that "Wilson watched his wife's CIA status become compromised after he wrote op-ed columns that accused the Bush Administration of manipulating intelligence about weapons of mass destruction to justify the invasion of Iraq."

23-02-2009 Naomi Joins Woody Allen Pic

According to Variety, Naomi is joining Woody Allen’s latest film, starring alongside already-announced Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins.

Mediapro, the Spain-based company behind "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," is financing the as-yet-untitled pic, which will be produced by Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum and Jaume Roures.

Filming is scheduled to begin this Summer in London.

13-02-2009 Naomi Not Doing "King Lear"

On a recent interview with Movies Online, Naomi confirmed that she is not doing "King Lear" alongside Anthony Hopkins, Gwyneth Paltrow and Keira Knightley, due to scheduling issues.

"There was a moment that I was going to", she said. "I ended up having to pull out because it would have been right now and shooting in different places again, and with a newborn it wouldn't have worked for me."

She also commented that she has a bunch of other film projects going on, but nothing concrete yet. You can go here to read the full interview.

In an upcoming interview for Dark Horizons, Naomi sounds confident that Platinum Dunes' remake of "The Birds" is going to happen after all.

"It will happen. It’s absolutely going to happen. And it’s something that Universal has a lot invested in, and so they’re going to make sure the script is right, and take their time with it. Martin Campbell’s directing it and he’s very involved in it" Naomi said during promotion of her new thriller "The International".

So when would it begin shooting? "We don’t have a start date, but it could be the end of this year."

Naomi is back to work! She was spotted on her way around Santa Monica with script in-hand, preparing for her leading role in the upcoming drama “Mother and Child”.

The film is said to be “centered around three women: A 50-year-old woman, the daughter she gave up for adoption 35 years ago, and an African American woman looking to adopt a child of her own.”
